Sorry to say but we're being ousted from our current server. Apparently, there is a scam that many hosting companies are using that fraudulently entice customers to sign on with them, but they have no intention of delivering on the goods. I will shop around over the next few days and keep you posted as progress is made.

Note. Nothing in the forum should be lost. And no files should be lost.

I know it has been said, but again thanks for all your seemingly tireless efforts.

The one good thing, the name stays. We just need a new house.

Yes, thanks for the work! That's really too bad about the hosting companies. Can you enlighten us to what the scam is? I'm looking to get a domain in the coming weeks, and I don't want to get stuck too.

Lousy service... people promising you one thing then delivering something else once they get you signed on, you know, Idiots.

Exactly. As you search for a host, you'll find those who promise you eightteen acres for pennies a year. Welp, don't believe it.

I've stalled them off but don't know for how long. Some time later this week, I'll move the forum to a new place so we'll not be offline for even a moment.

That's good to know. Who's your host so I can avoid them?

I have first hand experience with .....

midphase.com does not guaranty uptime - not a good thing

imhosted.com will delete your files if they feel you have too many

hostgator.com will shut you down with no word or warning, and when pressed for answers will hallucinate reasons why they did what they did

lunarpages.com told me they have a problem when you use large amounts of disk space

Thanks for the info.

All I can say is, wow. I'm surprised these companies haven't gotten a class action suit against them yet.

Or in other words "We wouldn't have rented you this house if we knew you actually intended to live in it....."

Or, it is like Old Country Buffet saying, "Well, we really didn't mean all you can eat."
